ü You will be required to bring your Holocaust book to homeroom on a DAILY basis. You will be expected to begin reading as soon as the bell has rung at 8:15 AM.
While Reading
1. At the completion of each section of your book, you will write a good summary. It needs to be labeled, dated and neatly written in paragraph format.
2. You will choose five(5) unfamiliar words from each section. They will be neatly listed out and defined following each chapter summary.
3. You will provide an illustration or an artifact for each section. If you choose to illustrate, it should be hand-drawn with a caption provided. If you choose to use an artifact, it must be something that can be securely attached to your poster in the hallway (for instance, a hair ribbon, a small child’s stocking, an identification tattoo, etc)
By Completion of Reading
1. A timeline that must be constructed using www.ourstory.com. You must have a minimum of 20 items on your timeline. You must have 5 illustrations on your timeline. It must be posted to your wiki page.
2. Create 4 Venn Diagrams (use MicrosoftWord) to compare and contrast your life with the story. Include the following items: 1. time period, 2. living conditions, 3. family situation, and 4. personal wants and needs. This must be posted to your wiki page.
3. An oral book report—these will be presented as people are finishing their books. You will use the timeline and the Venn Diagrams as the guide for your oral presentation.
